So gladto see Ricky Gervais hosting the 2012 Golden Globes again! While this funny man might take the jokes a little too much sometimes, I spend about 99% of the time watching him, laughing all the way!
Aside from the jokes, lets get to the fashion! Here’s a short list of some of my favoirte looks of the night! Feel free to let me know what you thought too!
You can always count on Australian beauty, Charlize, to show off her glowing skin; but what I loved about her dress this year was the color – how it accented her cellulite-less skin and the gorgeous cut of the dress alone – the plunging neckline, high bow slit, and perfect length train. Don’t forget to notice her gorgeous ankle strap sandals!
I have to give props to Michelle Williams who always seems to portray a bit of quirkiness in her. I admired her for stepping out in a velvet embellished dress. She delicately detailed her dainty look with a thin belt and matching colored headband. Bravo, Michelle…bravo!
The trend of the night (at least with both Charlize and Michelle) seemed to be their hair accessory – the headband strap. While Charlize chose one completely decked out in crystals and jewels, Michelle decided to simplify hers with an off-center jeweled bow.
While Kate Winslet didn’t WOW me this year as she has done in years past, I do have to commend her for pieces of her look. I’m absolutely in love with her choice of clutch and jewelry – extremely classy, tasteful, and accenting her dress nicely. My other favorite part about Kate is her tastefully simple hair style. She always seems to ooze and sense of classiness and confidence and is effortlessly stunning.
Probably my favorite comedic actress new to the screen – Emma Stone has already made fashion strides with her choices of gowns at award shows. The Golden Globes was no different as she stepped out in a stunning ombre dress with detailed belt buckle. This natural blonde – but now redhead – knows how to wear colors correctly that only accentuate her skin tone. And props to her makeup artist for doing the perfect eye-catching eyes!
Laura Dern stood out from the crowd this year with her glitterati emerald, form-fitting dress that couldn’t have looked better on anyone else! Dare I say this is my favorite dress of the night? I thought it fit her perfectly and was the right color for her skin tone. Not to mention I thought the neckline came down just enough – not too low!
What I love more than Diane Lane as an actress was her choice in gown for the Golden Globes. It appeared as if sequins were never-ending rain drops, falling from her body. The only thing that might be more beautiful that Diane Lane’s dress was her hair – blown out with just the right amount of curls.
While mermaid dresses were popular this year, my favorite was Sofia Vergara’s dress, designed by Vera Wang and jewelry by Harry Winston. This strapless dress cinched just right at the waist and flowed out into what could only be seen on someone under the sea. As if women don’t lust over Sofia’s perfectly curved body already…they will now!
At first glance, Clair Dane’s dress didn’t WOW me, however, it was when she turned around that all my doubts disappeared. Absolutely stunning, her back, and one you couldn’t take your eyes off of. My favorite part of the dress is how it is so elegantly simply with the last flashy detail remaining at the waist and just the right density in the fabric for the skirt to fall perfectly. To top off her simple look with a pop, Claire kept her hair off her face, nothing fancy, but brought attention to her lips with a red hue! Very much a DO in my book!
And one must never forget to mention how great her husband always looks. Stacy who?
